This app has been very helpful. The way I use it is by practicing from time to time with the speed reading, testing every once in a while, and reading normally when I just need a rest. What I've found is that after using the speed reading modes for some practice, even my leisurely reading is more efficient. Using the app trained me to automatically scan for the most important words – I was skeptical before but now I'm a true convert. And there are a lot of other ways to learn to speed read, but I've never used, or even seen, anything as convenient as this. I now save all classics I want to read for this app instead of kindle. Oh, right, it also allows amazing customization of colors and all the speed reading tool. Honestly, it blows kindle out of the water. I wish I knew how to read modern ebooks on it, but regardless, I'm very happy.

I use Speed Reader on an iPad as one of my main apps. It works very well with ePub format. Some books I use for speed reading and some books like travel books I use for for finding information. The features are excellent for both types of reading. It is an excellent product that I have used for at least a year.

I've tried many reading apps on iPhone, iPad, Kindle Fire and a rooted Kindle Fire running Jelly Bean. Since I downloaded this app, I never open any of my other reading apps. It is the most customizable ereader, even aside from the guided reading function. There is nothing unnecessary, and every time I find myself wishing that I could tweak something, it's always possible. This app was clearly designed by someone who reads a lot of ebooks. As for getting books into the app, I just strip the DRM and easily import into Quick Reader. I love it when an app developer knows how to focus on what's important.

Excelente app que cumpre o que promete e tem me facilitado muito a leitura de textos longos, especialmente de documentos e material da internet. A limitação do uso do formato ePub, porém, atrapalha um pouco, porque seria muito útil abrir diretamente um pdf, por exemplo, no programa para lê-lo, sem necessidade de conversão.

This is truly an outstanding App. I started learning to speed read with Acceleread App which is also an excellent app. However being an extremely poor reader, while Acceleread helped me improve both my speed and comprehension with its scientific approach to speed reading over a three month period, the Quick Reader App is helping me to better transition from the App to being able to read traditional hard copies of text books with the same speed and comprehension. Both apps are awesome. I have gone from vocalizing 200 wpm to reading 660 wpm and still tapping the right edge of the screen to speed up the reading rate. In closing, both apps are awesome. But, you can't find a better selection of reading material to read than that that is available on QuickReader. Awesome App. Thank You.

een heel waardevol hulpmiddel om sneller te leren lezen. Ik heb in een paar dagen mijn leessnelheid kunnen verdubbelen. Nu ga ik proberen dat vast te houden of te verbeteren. Dit programma heeft heel veel nauwkeurige configuratie( instellingen) mogelijkheden. Daardoor is het erg prettig in gebruik. ook zijn er een groot aantal gratis boeken te downloaden uit de gratis internet bibliotheek. Super

I've been reading word by word all my life and was skeptic but curious. I tried it, and it did help me read several words at a time, it's amazing how faster you can read this way. It really helps me read faster. I read really really slow. I did the test and it clocked me at 180. That's because I have a bad habit to read and reread. This app really helps me avoid that, helps me read in groups of words, and improves my speed. I'm reading at a modest 230 now, which isn't really something to brag about compared to the other reviews but I'm improving and honest about it. I look to challenge myself on every now book I read. I'm still on the first one but results look promising.

Não entendo por que tem gente que dá nota baixa para um aplicativo excelente, quando na verdade não sabe usar direito o iPhone e o iTunes! Você pode, além de acessar catálogos em português, fazer o mais óbvio: sincronizar os ebooks com o iTunes. Na seção "Aplicativos", procure o QuickReader na lista ao final da página e clique em "adicionar"; procure seu ebook, adicione e sincronize. Feito.

So many books to read, and so little time. I've been so frustrated as I enjoy reading, and there are so many books I want to read, but I'm so terribly slow!!! Was taking me a MONTH or so to get through a modest sized book. App is very impressive because it gives you so many options — colors, font size, means of highlighting words, grouping of words, margins, and of course speed — so you can customize it to fit your particular reading needs. In only three days I've gone from 275 to over 500 wpm. I have no illusions that's a permanent speed in such a short time, but the app is so much fun to play with, and the library is so extensive, I'm confident I'm going to hit 700+ and will have trained myself to where I will maintain that speed in the years to come!

One of the marks of a great app is simplicity within comprehensiveness. You will be able to use this app within a few minutes and be able to start training shortly thereafter. If you're looking for an app that trains your speed-reading AND integrates all the great free literature out there, this is it. Scifi, fantasy, romance, mystery, it's all there. You might not even need to buy novels for a while. But what this can't do yet (because I know the author is very responsive to feedback) is read PDF files of your own choosing. This is due to the text-unfriendly format of PDFs anyway. For PDFs, I suggest using online converters, saving it as a DOC and pasteboarding REASONABLE chunks of text (like 0.5 – 1 chapter or so). You might not like this, but there is no other app I know off that can do this. Oh, and the speed-reading technique here is legit. I know because I attended a $200 speedreading course before buying this app. The app is highly worth it's value.

I bought this to practice speed reading, and it does a great job at that. But then i got lazy and now use it as a library of public domain works – classics, indie authors and even some well-known modern authors who have made their works accessible. I only wish there were a better way to search the book databases. But combine this vast book access with the ability to increase your reading speed, and you have enough challenge to last you for life!

Worth every dollar. You will read faster, like downloading text into your brain. You'll remember what you read and have bypassed those lapses in concentration that occur while normally reading; but at the expense of thoughtfulness. This is not a negative, but a tradeoff of reading quickly: you'll have to make time to consider what you've read. The integrated access to +++free books struck me as a great attention to detail, and has done me a kindness. Buy it if you'll use it. Or if you read at all and are willing to experiment. I use this app primarily with the pasteboard to copy text in from other programs. Just this functionality justifies this program's use to me.

Para quem quer baixar livros em Portugues, entrem no google e procure catálogos de livro em Portugues e vai em baixar livros e acrescente o endereço encontrado no Google. Foi assim que eu tenho acesso a vários livros em Portugues. Aqueles que dizem que não e 100% e porque não aprenderam ainda a adicionar catálogos. Depois disso, e perfeito. Top of mind!

Отличная программа, особенно для чтения художественной литературы. Позволяет добавлять в поиск свои библиотеки. Т.е. можно новые книги скачивать прямо из программы. Из минусов могу отметить только то, что основная часть скаченных книг дублируется в списке, при этом, если удалить один из дублей, второй также исчезает после следующего запуска программы.

Having learnt some speed reading techniques some years ago, but neglected them a bit recently, this is a great app for truly automating the process. Just sit back and read, you don't need to press anything. It's also useful to know the time remaining to the end of the chapter and book. A good selection of titles are installed with the app.

Very good! QR has many interface options for comfortable reading. I would ask for a way to select text in the application (e.g. You speed read, come across an important passage in the text and want to copy it). PDF support would also be nice. Great app. I love a pre set of books and ability to download new books as well. Over time I did notice that my reading speed improved significantly. One suggestion I'd like to make is to add an option to read flashing words (with a set number of words) as opposed to reading highlighted text on the whole page.

Je to dobře udělaná čtečka je hodně zajímavá tím, že umí sama obracet stránky v závislosti na nastavitelné rychlosti čtení slov, umí i inverzi textu a vůbec různá barevná nastavení. Předvolby jsou po všech stránkách široké, je to trochu jako by mustr ze Stanzy ovládání je intuitivní a umí si načítat knihy přes iTunes, jak koupené tak co tam naházíte sami. Za 5$ je ale neprodejná, tak dolar bych dal, víc ne, proto, že má bohužel pro autory příliš velkou konkurenci právě ve Stanza a applovské iBooks která jsou free. Nutno ještě podotknout , že už v základu obsahuje snad na padesát knih v angličtině a tituly od Defoe atd. nejsou tam prostě šunty.

I am a history major and I need to read a ton of texts, but this app has still managed to improve my reading. My two favorite things are: 1)I don't have to turn turn the page; it is like watching a movie. 2) instead of rereading things I don't understand this app makes me untangle as I go, thus working on my comprehension in pace with my desired rate. I'm really glad I downloaded this app. I've tried learning speed reading before from books, but have always given up on it. First off, calculating how many words per minute you're reading is really tedious and annoying. Second, in order to increase your speed, you have to do drills where you read faster than you can comprehend. This has always felt like a waste of time to me. With this app, you just set it for how many words you want to read per minute and follow the cursor with your eyes. That's it. You're speed reading. Plus it comes with plenty of classic books to read and more to download. I feel like a sucker, because I paid ten bucks last month to get The Great Gastby on my kindle. Turns out its one of the free books on this app.

Программа очень нравится, купил чтобы научиться быстро читать по-английски. Но есть один лаг, на первой же книжке исчезли окончания страниц с правой стороны. Примерно 5 строк, не понял из-за чего, на следующей странице их также не было. И это повторялось каждые 4 страницы. Вышел, зашел все нормально стало впринципе, но факт – лаг есть.

Added June 20,2012 I am now using QuickReader with my new Apple TV and AirPlay to read books and material from the Pasteboard on my TV while I exercise. The Speed Reader feature means I don't have to turn the pages. **** So far, I have been using the pasteboard feature. It's very easy to get material into it and then save it for later. The integration with Instapaper is nice. I'm definitely reading faster in the app itself, and hope that with enough practice it will carry over to other reading – both electronically and with paper. I remember Evelyn Wood devices from a long time ago and have always wanted to try speed reading again. I'm very happy to have this app.

Got this app after looking into speed reading, and I must say that I'm hooked! My eyes tend to wander when reading an ordinarily. This app has me up to 365 words per minute already! (avg reader is 250-300) You can add your own books too through iTunes, very easy. Try it out!!

Все удобно настраивается, к воспроизведению книг вопросов нет. Удобно настраивать темп и указку для скорочтения. Комфортно и незаметно можно наращивать понемногу темп и устраивать себе периодические проверки. Разработчикам – спасибо! I usually don't waste time writing reviews, but this app is just the best bang for your buck. I started reading 226 WPM which is way low and after a month of maybe 20 to 30 minutes a day I'm reading comfortably at 625 WPM which is incredible. My goal is get to 1000 WPM in less than 6 months. I just love this app and the customizations tools make reading incredibly comfortable and easy. Just load your favorite novels (you don't have to read the ones included) and with a little discipline you'll be reading 5 books a week with no problems.

I finally gave up on Bookshelf after recent updates trashed it. This app works flawlessly with every book I've tried so far, and the Feedbooks downloads were fast and easy. The flaw I encountered was a total inability to log onto Baen books and download stuff I've paid for. Aside from that one problem, the app is slick, and very well executed, and the speed reading concept works surprisingly well. Highly recommended!

I really like the way in which the application allows me to configure the settings for my own requirements. The ability to change font sizes, margins, # of highlighted words, highlighting style, and speed are great. For my purposes, plenty of books are available that interest me. I do wish the instructions provided better guidance on how to maximize the benefits in the shortest time. Well worth the $4.99.

Worth every dollar. You will read faster, like downloading text into your brain. You'll remember what you read and have bypassed those lapses in concentration that occur while normally reading; but at the expense of thoughtfulness. This is not a negative, but a tradeoff of reading quickly: you'll have to make time to consider what you've read. I use this app almost exclusively with the pasteboard to copy text in from other programs. Just this functionality justifies this program's use to me.

This app helped me to up my reading speed from 350 to 1100 in less than 2 months. It has a large library for the price and access to Project Gutenberg's database, allowing free downloads of thousands of classics ranging from Plato to Twain all for free. I loved this reader before the update, with it's great speed reading mechanism which allows you to easily set a rate you are comfortable with. Or you can switch to normal reading with a couple of taps. Now, with the update, they've made it dead easy to import your own non-DRM books in! The only thing I would ask is for some way to be able to set the start point on a page for the speed reading highlight. If you flip the page accidentally or look at the chapter list, it starts from the top of the page each time.

I can warmly recommend this app for reading books. Much better then ibooks because it actually teaches you to enhance your reading speed a LOT, extremely customizable in colors, fonts, etc., and includes a lot of small comfortable features like adjusting brightness with an up or down swap of your finger. I use it every single day. Kudos guys, keep up the excellent work! I purchased this app months ago and thought it was pretty good. However the free book content was not particularly interesting to me so I stopped using it. However I recently discovered Calibre an app that allows conversion of ebooks into different formats. This means I am now able to download my books from my computer into QuickReader using Calibre's content server facility. I don't know if this is a new feature or just one I had missed, but it makes this app invaluable now. I have already almost doubled my reading speed in the last two days and because I am reading books I like the interest value is unlikely to wane as in the case of similar apps. Brilliant. The only request for improvement I could make would be a way to auto ramp up your speed to a pre-set level as reading at the speed you left off at immediately having put the book down for a while can be a little difficult at first. A gradual increase to a pre-set speed would negate that. I don't review very often but thought I would offer some praise for this app as it is so darned good. Kel.

Suggestions for improvements: – Add a RSVP reader mode. With the font size set to maximum it is close to RSVP but not quite. – The option sliders are too sensitive. – Ability to store option presets.

Att kunna pressa sin läshastighet är härligt, och sen vid andra tillfällen vill jag lägga hastigheten på en bekväm nivå och bara slippa vända blad… Genialiskt! Om du fortfarande debatterar om du ska eller inte ska köpa den så testa "Lite" versionen. Det finns knappt något att läsa där, men du får en känsla för vad den kan göra. Interfacet är helt suveränt. I agree. Now that 10.5 has killed off Stanza, QuickReader fills its void. It is a dependable reader that has all the required features plus some of its own like the speed reader training. This will now be my 'most used' app on Touch and iPad.

So far, I have been using the pasteboard feature. It's very easy to get material into it and then save it for later. The integration with Instapaper is nice. I'm definitely reading faster in the app itself, and hope that with enough practice it will carry over to other reading – both electronically and with paper. I remember Evelyn Wood devices from a long time ago and have always wanted to try speed reading again. I'm very happy to have this app.

This is fantastic ap tp use to boost your reading speed. The iPad version is easier to use than the iPhone ap, the screen is much more like a "normal" page size, and its much easier on the eyes. I've recently started a new job as an editor of a scientific journal, and re-learning how to read at speeds of >1000 wpm as I used to in my long lost youth would be a great advantage. I've been using this ap in conjunction with Tony Buzan's speed reading book, and the easily adjustable speed reader mode, which allows you to push to speeds of well over 2000 wpm is great for that. The moveable cursor has a number of different customizable features, it took a while to find the style that suited me best. You can also read in "normal" book mode, which makes it like any other book reader. As such, it compares well with the iBook reader, and page turns are very quick. I prefer both to the Kindle iPad ap. A speed test mode is very useful for measuring your progress, and saves a lot of time when doing the Buzan exercises. If you used a normal book or another e reader, you'd spend hours counting words and calculating speeds- I don't have time for all that. You can import free domain books from a number of internet sites. The ability to import your own ebooks including PDFs would make it almost perfect. Thoroughly recommended.

I have never written a review before but this app is so good I had to add my comments. I have always been a slow reader and need to read for work. I have taken several different speed reading courses and never gained significant speed. After only a few sessions my speed has increased about 40% and I am sure I will do considerably better. I am very excited about this program. It is well worth the minimal cost.

I have always wanted to take a speed reading course, and now I have one right on my Ipad. This app has helped me increase my reading speed by almost 50 words per minute in only a few short sessions. The app is very easy to use, and the setting are self-explanatory and very easy to use. Definitely worth the money! I would really love it if the next updates could include a highlighting/notes feature. It would also be wonderful to be able to read books that I have purchased through my Nook and Kindle and Ibook apps, too. Don't know if that's possible, but it would be nice.

This is a useful, well-done app. Downloading books from feedbooks.com is quick and easy, and the viewing options let you customize the fonts, look of the page, etc. The developer supports it very actively. I generally read several books at a time, so one feature I'd like to see is a list of books currently being read. Support for "push-up" drills, a la Evelyn Wood, would also be very nice.

The ability to import pdf's (in conjunction with Caliber- a free app) means that anything that can be downloaded or converted to pdf format can be imported and speed-read using QuickReader. Not to mention all of the free e-book formated books, articles, summaries, journals, etc. that are in cyberspace. A great tool for the person wanting to absorb more information, more quickly and easily. (No need to import using pasteboard unless you want to). If you read, you should have this application. It's one of the last things that I would give up on my iPhone.

The best use of money is the purchase of more time. One should be willing to buy this app for the great works of literature alone, yet none of us has the time to read them – until now! This App works as advertised with no bugs. I found it uncomfortable at first, but after making the effort to not subvocalize and allow the eyes to become trained in the movement it becomes progressively easier. It helps if you choose a book you have already read and make an effort not to despair at momentary loss of context. The app allows for change in speed, grouping, colors, and fonts. All of which make it much easier on the eyes. To think I hesitated in buying Apple and ever contemplated Kindle!

I love it! It has made me read 3 times faster, and I had a problem reading. I used to read about 100 words per minute, now I read over 300! The average in my country is 200.. This really is the best e-reader available on iTunes. The speed reading features are surprisingly well executed. There is some controversy about whether speed reading practices actually lead to a permanent increase in reading speed; but even if the speed increases are temporary the automatic page turning feature is worth the price of admission alone. If the developers added a built-in dictionary, and some way to highlight text, and add notes this app would be perfect.

This is my favorite non-game app. It offers over a Million free books that are great for casual or speed reading. The speed reading guide (which can be turned off) is great for eye exercises to improve range of vision. The user interface is clean and intuitive, and the ability to tweak everything to suit your own needs is terrific. This app is outstanding! If you want to read at the same speed as you think – this app will make it possible. Reading can be equated to a log jam in a winding river somewhere in British Columbia. Everything slows down to an eventual stop. This is as good, if not better, than any speed reading program I have encountered. The range of available texts is impressive, and I've uploaded my own with Pasteboards. Comprehension tests can be a problem and you are better off creating your own. Ron Lawrence

I took a speed reading course 15 years ago that taught the same principles this app applies. Instead of having to read two handed, with one hand underlining text to guide your eyes, you can kick back and let this app guide your eyes AND turn the pages for you. It's so awesome how easy it is to practice and simply read. And the book selection is enormous! Training tip: warm up at your fastest pace for 30 sec. Then add 1-200 WPM to your pace and read for 30 sec. Speed up again a few more times. Increase the lines per stop so that your eyes move at a comfortable pace as speed increases, and relax your gaze so that you take in more words. Then, slow down to 100 WPM faster than your previous fastest pace. You should notice yourself understanding a lot more this time. My current pace: 870 WPM.

This is a very good application that could significantly benefit students. One thing I would stress is to alter the settings (use the bar above the text instead of using highlighted words) so that your eyes get accustomed to utilizing the white space (via your peripheral vision) above the text to read quicker.

This app is very helpful for me to build upon my speed reading class. Puts the web content in a speed reading friendly environment until I get to a stage where I do not need the speed reading aids. Developer is also very responsive. App had an issue with my version of OS and he pushed a patch out within a day and was willing to provide me with a push to my device while it goes through Apple's approval process.

QuickReader is very nicely done — having the moving highlight pushing me along in the text is very effective. Sometimes it feels like I want to move ahead of it, and other times I feel I’m being pulled along faster than I would have read otherwise. IOW it’s showing me just how turbulent my reading speed tends to be. It’ll be nice to have an opportunity to even things out. I totally love how it automatically interfaces with the ebook library in Calibre, where I have all my ebooks stored anyway. I just opened the "Books in calibre" item and all my books in Calibre (already running on my Mac) were automagically listed right there on the iPhone. Didn’t have to set anything up at all. So now I have lots of interesting things to read. Nifty! There is one problem, though it's really outside of the design of the app — QuickReader isn't good with Japanese text. It does display it just fine, but without spaces between the words QR doesn't know where to divide things so the moving highlight can’t split text into e.g. three chunks-per-line. It just displays each line as one chunk, meaning at the same speed setting it scrolls down the page at triple speed . But it’s not designed for Japanese text, so that’s not worth a star off. Totally worth the 700 yen.

Updated review: This app has improved a great deal since I first reviewed it. The developer responded to my request for left justified text and that helps me a lot. Now you can import books through Calibre desktop software, too, which is great. This is my preferred app for reading on my iPod touch as long as I can get the books in it. I still have not pushed past the 430 wpm barrier mentioned in my original review, however. Original review (3 stars): Most of the classic books included with this reader can be found for free elsewhere. I bought the app mainly for the speed reading training. In that respect, it has been a bit disappointing. I started out around 250 wpm and after a few practice sessions I was up to 400 wmp. I was impressed at the start but I seem to be stuck in a plateau now. After 2-3 weeks of daily practice, I have not been able to push past 430 wmp. Many of the books are older, which (for me) makes them harder to read due to the language. As this is the only auto-advancing ebook reader I have found for the iPod touch, it would really add to the value if I could import ebooks from other sources. Yes, it has copy and paste, but I have not had any luck getting longer texts into the program. I'd like the program much more if I could practice with modern books of my own choosing. I would like to see a setting option for left justified text. I find fully justified text very hard to read. Aside from that, the settings allow for a lot of customization.

This program is the real deal. You will be amazed how addictive this becomes. I find myself using this several times per day. What is really cool is my reading speed is increasing and I'm reading more than ever. It's easy to convert most any pdf file using Calibre (full instructions come with it). Here's a way I use this to maximize my learning. I read an ebook and underline the areas of importance. I export my markings and bring them into this program, then speed read them. It's a great way to learn fast. This program is amazingly adjustable. You can adjust the margins ( start smaller and slowly increase their width and watch your speed soar), adjust speed – if you can think of it, you can adjust it. If you need or want to learn faster, read faster and do it easily – get this program. And with the coming iPad version (no extra charge) the value is immense.

Quick reader is a fine app. Its one of the best. Its a example for other app writers to follow. Its well thought out and has lots of features. Still there is a little room for improvement. When in manual reading mode, quick reader needs the option to turn off the page turn effect. This would probably save a little on battery life. Paste boards is useful, still quick reader needs the option to transfer pdfs and text files via Wifi from the home computer.

Hate obscuring the text with your fingers (or thumbs) when you tap the screen? Just set your Words-Per-Minute at a comfortable pace, and QuickReader turns the pages for you. You can paste text from other apps into Quickreader and save it as a file, in effect creating your own "mini-book". Very handy when you want to read a long Web article in ebook format. I recently started taking college courses and discovered that my time away from school effected my reading ability. So I got the book Breakthrough Rapid Reading and used it along with this app. Between the two I went from from an average of 230 wpm to 520 wpm. I can't really say which helped the most ( book or app ) but between the two I am very happy with my improvements. I recommend this app ( as well as the book ) if you are willing to put in the practice to improve your reading skills/ comprehension.

You know, I purchased this app believing that it would probably be a waste of money for me (just like numerous other speed reading programs I've tried). To my delight and surprise it is working. I started with the app set to 300 wpm and now I'm up to 500 wpm and I'm actually getting something out of what I'm reading. My occupation requires a tremendous amount of research, so anything that helps me speed up that process is of great value to me. QuickReader is enjoyable,the selection of reading material is wonderful, and the results are obvious. What more can you ask? I think this will really help me fiiiiinally get over my "subvocalization" habit (reading comprehension by mentally imagining the sounds of the words in my mind rather than associating the visual image of the words directly with a meaning). Now it is perfect that it can download books from your Calibre server. Just awesome. Now it's the best reader on iTunes, and I have tried them all. Hint: if you use Stanza with Calibre, the setup is similar but remember to add "/opds" to the end of the server address or it won't work. I banged my head on this for an hour or so, once I figured it out (by simply RTFM on the Quickreader site) it works like a dream.

Updated: LOVE IT STILL, just a thought though, would it be possible to add simple eye exercises that are not word related (meaning pictures or icons) which would 'warm up' the eyes. Would only make the app that much better, but it's already a PERFECT TEN. * * * * * * * * * * I have several other speed reading apps and the really expensive laptop program (you've seen the info-mercials) and I have to say on both mobility and ease of use this app beats them all. Pasteboard function is the #1 reason this app is far superior to all other similar apps on iTunes and with future updates it will be even better. If it was possible to access the library from Apps like 'Stanza' – this app would be out of control, but as it stands now, it's the best app in it's class, hands down. Thank you for this technology and keep up the great work.

I am a Uni student who spends a good portion of my time reading. I did some private research into improving my learning skills and speed reading was recommend. I trialled the Lite version first and was so impressed I purchased the full version. I have noticed a measurable increase in my speed and comprehension. This app is awesome! I was wondering maybe you can install a dictionary. Because sometimes while I read I go over a word that I don't understand and then I have to stop and look up the definition. It really gets in the way of me making any progress.

Fantastic! They did it right. I have looked for speed reading help for years and even wrote an application for the PC. I thought I did a good job, but QuickReader just takes care of everything… Now with the addition of importing even more books, they have improved it even more. I have showed it to several children and they love it too.

I was such a slow reader and didn't like how painful reading could be for me until this app changed that. Now my reading speed is increasing and I am able to read the classic books I missed in my youth. With the new update and ability to download public domain books there is no reason not to download this app. High marks on the new update, keep up the good work!

This little app doesn't do all the fancy eye exercises of computer based alternatives but it does seem to get me reading at a more consistant pace and gradually raise my speed. I recently copied the bible into quick reader so that I can get my studying in while increasing my speed. Great app, well worth the $5 and couple minutes it takes per day.

I have always had a difficult time reading and staying focused but I have gone back to college at age 43 and want to get my bachelors in both Soanish and psychology. I can copy Spanish text as well as English an improve it. I have increased my reading from about 250 to 400. I know that is slow but I want to go on for a Masters and could never expect to accomlish it without increasing speed and comprehension. The only feature I wish it had was tracking so I could look at my overall progress as time goes on.

Very useful app – have sleazy improved my reading speed after just a few sessions. Texts supplies are just right for learning to use the guided reading feature. The added bonus of being able to import your own choice of text means that you can use the guided reading tool with material you need to read. Excellent app – thanks!

Are you tired of crappy user interface? Low qulity apps that actually charge you for use? This is one of the few apps that have impressed me in both layout, user interface, and just pure quality. In fact it impressed me enough to write a review. If your looking to consume large amounts of knowledge in a short amount of time ( kind of like in the movie "the Matrix" ), then this is the app for you. With plenty of classic books to choose from and the easy to use interface this app definitly deserves a 5 out 5 stars. My only beef, is I think there needs to be some kind of course to follow. In addition to the introduction and guide already in quick reader.

After a couple of other unsuccessful programs, QuickReader was a better tool for me. In a few weeks of practice I went from below average of 196 wpm to 448 wpm which is a comfortable speed with good retention and comprehension. I may never reach the 3000 wpm, but for a 70 y/o who enjoys reading, I'm thrilled with the great results from QuickReader. I certainly will be reading more books. The price is very reasonable and worth it. I have highly recommended it to family and friends. Thanks for this great application! I'm also enjoying the upgrades…

I love the new paste board. The only downfall with the paste board is when your finished with the material you have to go to normal reading mode and manually index the pages back, to get to the beginning. This is not very handy if you would like to read the material more than once. Other than that as previously stated: Perfect! Perfect! Perfection! I've doubled my reading speed in about a week and a half. More importantly, I've found a focus that I hadn't realized I was lacking. I was a little disappointed when two days after I bought the app, it dropped half price for an introductory price. However, it's worth much more than the full price anyways. I would like to know if anyone else has experienced a high from this. I get this speed buzz, like an energy drink high without the drop. My focus is astounding. It's like my mind is clicking, to a metronome or something to that effect. I feel happier after practicing. My trouble shooting skills click as well. Well, in any effect, hopfully it's addicting. Is there any chance of adding new books in the future? Also, is there a chance that the WPM will increase from 2000 in the future?

I like the new version, it has copy and paste support to import content, an increased guide speed to 3000 WPM, a way to turn the guide off so it just turns the pages and a demo video – pretty cool stuff. I use this all the time and it's well worth the money. It's got two uses I value. As an ebook reader it allows lots of customisations but also an elegant interface and a touch-free reading mode (the guided reading). As a speed reading App, it promotes natural eye tracking without silly eye excercises or worse, staring at the screen while words are flashed at you (which some Apps do). I also like that you can import and save your own content. This has got to be one of the best readers out there. Highly reccomended.

I just got the upgrade which adds polish and features like copy/past to an already nice app. I have been using the previous version to improve my reading speed when on the go. What I was surprised by was that my wife liked the new version. She had checked out the previous version but it didn't click. The fact that she is getting an iPhone this month and the intro video changed her mind and this app is going to be one of the first I purchase for her.

This is certainly the best speed Reading app with all the configurations you could wish for. Really need to be able to import your own books and text for when you have finished Reading the built in books (which won't be long given the speed you will be Reading)! ———- Update: unbelievable! They implemented my change request in less than a week. The best just got better. Now this app really has no competition. May I request another improvement? It would be nice to be able to change the speed whilst Reading without having to go into settings (unless I have missed how to do this) Thanks for adding the text import so quickly!

This app is by far the best investment I have made besides buying the newest Ipod touch. I used it one time, ONE TIME and already my reading speed sky rocketed. I was studying for a psych test and it allowed me to use the new techniques I learned in using the app for such a short time to double the amount I was able to read. At the University of Rochester, reading fast is a big skill and this gives me a competitive advantage if I do say so myself. Maybe you can make it were I can upload or by my texbooks right on the app. Great job guys

This app does an excellent job of training the eye to absorb more words at a greater pace. The selection of books is well chosen, the program is simple to use (with a clean UI) and performs it's functions perfectly. A few features that I'd like to see in an update: ability to upload your own books (even if it is restricted to only txt format) and the option of comprehension tests at the end of the chapter. This latter feature is especially desirable because it would help the reader ensure he is understanding what he reads rather than passively skimming the words. Absent these features this app is still an excellent speed reading program which I highly recomend.

I have looked for years for a program like this. Portable and effective. I find myself using this 4 or more times a day and I see improvement in my reading. The only drawback is not being able to drop in text of my own or other books. A situation they say they are working on. All in all the best, most well thought out app I own. This app has a beautiful interface and is a delight to use. It has improved my reading speed and continues to go so. I've known for a while that I'm a not a very fast reader. I say it to my friends all the time. I wanted to do something about it but didn't want to invest a lot of time into it. Now with QuickReader I can spend short amounts if idle/commute times and it benefits my speed without having to set aside a chunk of time.

I don't usually bother with reviews, but this software is out-standing! I've always head trouble with reading too slowly, and speedreading systems I've tried before had a lot of shortcomings. This program is enjoyable, challenging, and effective. The included books also make you feel like your not just practicing a technique, you can actually read something enjoyable! One feature i would love to see – make it possible to import your own ebooks – that would make this the most useful ebooks reader ever made! Even without that feature this program is worth much more than the cost.

QuickReader is a well-designed application that works! It trains readers to read more quickly and with greater comprehension. The UI is clean, and use is intuitive. A variety of interesting books are provided for the reading speed tests and practice readings. After a week with the application I tested at over 600 words/minute. I'm glad to have QuickReader on my iPhone, it's the one application I use during down time (typically waiting on lines) that actually provides a tangible benefit. It is well worth the price, and I highly recommend it.

I've taken several speed reading courses and this program does more than all of them combined for about $300 less. There is another iphone reader (beamitdown) that is touchless and a natural extension once you've 'graduated' and are looking for more material, I'd love to see the developers come together on a joint project. I tried the included speed test and clocked in at 583 words. Pretty respectable, I thought. Then I turned on the guides, tweaked them to my preferences, and in no time was reading nearly 25% faster and I am still picking up speed – with good comprehension and retention. The app comes with some great classic literature for you to brush up on. Try it and you'll wish all your correspondence and reading came with QuickReader guides!

I have been playing with quickreader over the weekend and I have to admit I am very impressed. It's amazing what you can customize, there isn't an e-reader app exists today on the app store that let's you customize as much as this app does, which makes the QuickReader a full featured e-reader in additions to being speedreader. You want bigger font, you can customize that, you want different font type, you can change that also. You want to change the colors, you can either choose from many built-in themes or you can customize one your self. In additions to that, this app can help you read faster over time. Imagine being able to read faster over time. Here is how I do it my self: First, I will take a speed reading test to see where i am at: then I will adjust the guided reading speed to be slightly above that — then I will increase this over time. So this app has all what you need to improve your speed reading ability. It's definitely worth the $9.99 price.

This app is amazingly effective! I had not heard about speed reading before, but by simply trying Quick-Reader I could see the benefit right away. As a musician I immediately understood the concept: it's like a metronome for reading, it keeps me on track and keeps me focused. It's necessary for me to read many texts for my work. The Quick-Reader app allows me to adjust the formatting of the text to my liking with no distraction to my attention. The meter helps me attain a rhythm in reading I had not experienced before, and I not only achieved a momentum in reading more text but also in better retaining the provided information. Truthfully, I find this app very useful for work-related reading, but I still prefer to ponder recreational books at my own leasure.
