This is a awesome app. I love how easy I can load my personal library using calibre. I like the many different color options to display pages for different lighting and the speed reading options. This is worth every penny. Even if speed reading is not your thing you can set at your own pace and not have to worry about turning pages.

You know, I purchased this app believing that it would probably be a waste of money for me (just like numerous other speed reading programs I’ve tried). To my delight and surprise it is working. I started with the app set to 300 wpm and now I’m up to 500 wpm and I’m actually getting something out of what I’m reading. My occupation requires a tremendous amount of research, so anything that helps me speed up that process is of great value to me. QuickReader is enjoyable,the selection of reading material is wonderful, and the results are obvious. What more can you ask? I really am excited to see how fast I’ll be able to read…Please keep up the great work. This is a fantastic app! I think this will really help me fiiiiinally get over my “subvocalization” habit (reading comprehension by mentally imagining the sounds of the words in my mind rather than associating the visual image of the words directly with a meaning). Clearly that will take a lot of practice, though, so I’m glad that this app includes a lot of reading material. I’d say it’s worth the price just for the eBooks it includes alone!

Now it is perfect that it can download books from your Calibre server. Just awesome. Now it’s the best reader on iTunes, and I have tried them all. Hint: if you use Stanza with Calibre, the setup is similar but remember to add “/opds” to the end of the server address or it won’t work. I banged my head on this for an hour or so, once I figured it out (by simply RTFM on the Quickreader site) it works like a dream.

Updated: LOVE IT STILL, just a thought though, would it be possible to add simple eye exercises that are not word related (meaning pictures or icons) which would ‘warm up’ the eyes. Would only make the app that much better, but it’s already a PERFECT TEN. * * * * * * * * * * I have several other speed reading apps and the really expensive laptop program (you’ve seen the info-mercials) and I have to say on both mobility and ease of use this app beats them all. Pasteboard function is the #1 reason this app is far superior to all other similar apps on iTunes and with future updates it will be even better. If it was possible to access the library from Apps like ‘Stanza’ – this app would be out of control, but as it stands now, it’s the best app in it’s class, hands down. Thank you for this technology and keep up the great work.

This is a really, really useful app. Downloading books from feedbooks.com is quick and easy, and the viewing options let you customize the fonts, look of the page, etc. The developer supports it very actively. The only thing I really miss is an easier way to move other epub books to the app (e.g. webDav), but that is a nit, since even with my reading rate going through the roof, I still have hundreds if not thousands of books to read via feedbooks.

I am a Uni student who spends a good portion of my time reading. I did some private research into improving my learning skills and speed reading was recommend. I trialled the Lite version first and was so impressed I purchased the full version. I have noticed a measurable increase in my speed and comprehension. This little app doesn’t do all the fancy eye exercises of computer based alternatives but it does seem to get me reading at a more consistant pace and gradually raise my speed. I recently copied the bible into quick reader so that I can get my studying in while increasing my speed. Great app, well worth the $5 and couple minutes it takes per day.

I have always had a difficult time reading and staying focused but I have gone back to college at age 43 and want to get my bachelors in both Soanish and psychology. I can copy Spanish text as well as English an improve it. I have increased my reading from about 250 to 400. I know that is slow but I want to go on for a Masters and could never expect to accomlish it without increasing speed and comprehension. The only feature I wish it had was tracking so I could look at my overall progress as time goes on.

Are you tired of crappy user interface? Low qulity apps that actually charge you for use? This is one of the few apps that have impressed me in both layout, user interface, and just pure quality. In fact it impressed me enough to write a review. If your looking to consume large amounts of knowledge in a short amount of time ( kind of like in the movie “the Matrix” ), then this is the app for you. With plenty of classic books to choose from and the easy to use interface this app definitly deserves a 5 out 5 stars. My only beef, is I think there needs to be some kind of course to follow. In addition to the introduction and guide already in quick reader.

After a couple of other unsuccessful programs, QuickReader was a better tool for me. In a few weeks of practice I went from below average of 196 wpm to 448 wpm which is a comfortable speed with good retention and comprehension. I may never reach the 3000 wpm, but for a 70 y/o who enjoys reading, I’m thrilled with the great results from QuickReader. I certainly will be reading more books. I love the new paste board. The only downfall with the paste board is when your finished with the material you have to go to normal reading mode and manually index the pages back, to get to the beginning. This is not very handy if you would like to read the material more than once. Other than that as previously stated: Perfect! Perfect! Perfection! I’ve doubled my reading speed in about a week and a half. More importantly, I’ve found a focus that I hadn’t realized I was lacking. I was a little disappointed when two days after I bought the app, it dropped half price for an introductory price. However, it’s worth much more than the full price anyways. I would like to know if anyone else has experienced a high from this. I get this speed buzz, like an energy drink high without the drop. My focus is astounding. It’s like my mind is clicking, to a metronome or something to that effect. I feel happier after practicing. My trouble shooting skills click as well. Well, in any effect, hopfully it’s addicting. Is there any chance of adding new books in the future? Also, is there a chance that the WPM will increase from 2000 in the future?

The recent upgrade is amazing! This is THE best speed reading program I know I of! As far as further upgrades go, you could add an eye/ comprehension trainer like EyeQ has… Also, the guided reading could be more consistent from page to page. Worth buying!!!

I like the new version, it has copy and paste support to import content, an increased guide speed to 3000 WPM, a way to turn the guide off so it just turns the pages and a demo video – pretty cool stuff. I use this all the time and it’s well worth the money. It’s got two uses I value. As an ebook reader it allows lots of customisations but also an elegant interface and a touch-free reading mode (the guided reading). As a speed reading App, it promotes natural eye tracking without silly eye excercises or worse, staring at the screen while words are flashed at you (which some Apps do). I also like that you can import and save your own content. This has got to be one of the best readers out there. Highly reccomended.

QuickReader 1.1 upgrade in time for the holidays

I just got the upgrade which adds polish and features like copy/past to an already nice app. I have been using the previous version to improve my reading speed when on the go. What I was surprised by was that my wife liked the new version. She had checked out the previous version but it didn’t click. The fact that she is getting an iPhone this month and the intro video changed her mind and this app is going to be one of the first I purchase for her.

Very well done. Beautiful UI, but more importantly this app allows me to improve my reading skills while reading full pages of text, not just having 2 or 3 words at a time flash on the screen.

This is certainly the best speed Reading app with all the configurations you could wish for. Really need to be able to import your own books and text for when you have finished Reading the built in books (which won’t be long given the speed you will be Reading)! ———- Update: unbelievable! They implemented my change request in less than a week. The best just got better. Now this app really has no competition. May I request another improvement? It would be nice to be able to change the speed whilst Reading without having to go into settings (unless I have missed how to do this) Thanks for adding the text import so quickly!

This app is by far the best investment I have made besides buying the newest Ipod touch. I used it one time, ONE TIME and already my reading speed sky rocketed. I was studying for a psych test and it allowed me to use the new techniques I learned in using the app for such a short time to double the amount I was able to read. At the University of Rochester, reading fast is a big skill and this gives me a competitive advantage if I do say so myself. Maybe you can make it were I can upload or by my texbooks right on the app. Great job guys

This app does an excellent job of training the eye to absorb more words at a greater pace. The selection of books is well chosen, the program is simple to use (with a clean UI) and performs it’s functions perfectly. A few features that I’d like to see in an update: ability to upload your own books (even if it is restricted to only txt format) and the option of comprehension tests at the end of the chapter. This latter feature is especially desirable because it would help the reader ensure he is understanding what he reads rather than passively skimming the words. Absent these features this app is still an excellent speed reading program which I highly recomend.

I have looked for years for a program like this. Portable and effective. I find myself using this 4 or more times a day and I see improvement in my reading. The only drawback is not being able to drop in text of my own or other books. A situation they say they are working on. All in all the best, most well thought out app I own. Well worth the investment!

This app has a beautiful interface and is a delight to use. It has improved my reading speed and continues to go so. I’ve known for a while that I’m a not a very fast reader. I say it to my friends all the time. I wanted to do something about it but didn’t want to invest a lot of time into it. Now with QuickReader I can spend short amounts if idle/commute times and it benefits my speed without having to set aside a chunk of time.

I don’t usually bother with reviews, but this software is out-standing! I’ve always head trouble with reading too slowly, and speedreading systems I’ve tried before had a lot of shortcomings. This program is enjoyable, challenging, and effective. The included books also make you feel like your not just practicing a technique, you can actually read something enjoyable! One feature i would love to see – make it possible to import your own ebooks – that would make this the most useful ebooks reader ever made! Even without that feature this program is worth much more than the cost.

QuickReader is a well-designed application that works! It trains readers to read more quickly and with greater comprehension. The UI is clean, and use is intuitive. A variety of interesting books are provided for the reading speed tests and practice readings. After a week with the application I tested at over 600 words/minute. I’m glad to have QuickReader on my iPhone, it’s the one application I use during down time (typically waiting on lines) that actually provides a tangible benefit. It is well worth the price, and I highly recommend it.

I’ve tried several speed reading books. While I grasped the general concept, what I lacked was a program like Quickreader to pace myself and build speed gradually. Right from the start, I’m reading everything in several-word gulps, without pausing to say the words to myself. The result: much better comprehension, and much more enjoyable reading. All-in-all, a very fine program.

Really awesome app. Love the fact that it comes with a good library to begin with. The guided reading takes a little getting used to but once the eyes adjust, its a lot of fun. I really think its a great tool for improving your reading skills and can teach a good reader a trick or two.

I’ve taken several speed reading courses and this program does more than all of them combined for about $300 less. There is another iphone reader (beamitdown) that is touchless and a natural extension once you’ve ‘graduated’ and are looking for more material, I’d love to see the developers come together on a joint project. Meantime, get this!

Tried other speed reading trainers but this is the best. Books included are classics I’ve been meaning to read but what’s better is I can apply what I’m learning to anything else I want to read. Already feel like I’m reading at least twice as fast and paying better attention. Andl what I’m learning is life long! Great app!

I tried the included speed test and clocked in at 583 words. Pretty respectable, I thought. Then I turned on the guides, tweaked them to my preferences, and in no time was reading nearly 25% faster and I am still picking up speed – with good comprehension and retention. The app comes with some great classic literature for you to brush up on. Try it and you’ll wish all your correspondence and reading came with QuickReader guides!

I have been playing with quickreader over the weekend and I have to admit I am very impressed. It’s amazing what you can customize, there isn’t an e-reader app exists today on the app store that let’s you customize as much as this app does, which makes the QuickReader a full featured e-reader in additions to being speedreader. You want bigger font, you can customize that, you want different font type, you can change that also. You want to change the colors, you can either choose from many built-in themes or you can customize one your self. In additions to that, this app can help you read faster over time. Imagine being able to read faster over time. Here is how I do it my self: First, I will take a speed reading test to see where i am at: then I will adjust the guided reading speed to be slightly above that — then I will increase this over time. So this app has all what you need to improve your speed reading ability. It’s definitely worth the $9.99 price.

I downloaded and started using this product today and I must say, I’m impressed. This product is easy to navigate and easy to adjust to my habits. For leisure, I’m an avid reader and for work required to read massive amounts with little time… So, I will be using this product for both, personal and training. As an old school reader, I’m finicky about moving from paper to electronic but the transition is made easier by the elegance and ease of the product. Thanks guys.

This app is amazingly effective! I had not heard about speed reading before, but by simply trying Quick-Reader I could see the benefit right away. As a musician I immediately understood the concept: it’s like a metronome for reading, it keeps me on track and keeps me focused. It’s necessary for me to read many texts for my work. The Quick-Reader app allows me to adjust the formatting of the text to my liking with no distraction to my attention. The meter helps me attain a rhythm in reading I had not experienced before, and I not only achieved a momentum in reading more text but also in better retaining the provided information.   Truthfully, I find this app very useful for work-related reading, but I still prefer to ponder recreational books at my own leasure.
